By the way, it's obvious even from the trailer that the filmmakers — the writer/director is Mexican and the film is a collaboration with a Mexican production company — intend to (ahem) downplay the realities of the Aztec religion and culture. The Joker in the piece is supposed to be an Aztec priest driven insane by human sacrifice. I won't publish anything until I've actually seen the movie, but . . . they made Hernán Cortés "Two Face" in the movie. This ain't that hard.
