Depressing. I liked the comment in the British press on Sunak's rain-soaked announcement: "things can only get wetter."

The other way to open this is to discuss the lifespan of lettuce versus the lifespan of recent prime ministers. Although I suppose Sunak is more of a potato than a lettuce

Absolutely. I never tire of the lettuce jibes. Aldi wasted no time... https://www.thepoke.com/2024/05/23/rishi-sunak-aldi-shade/

I remember the 70s Mr.Gage. They were tough times. What's coming is by far worse. I know the USA is 34+ trillion in debt and between 150 and 250 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

It isn't going to be life and world changing.

I don't know how bad it is for our friends across the pond, but I'm sure it's similar to us.

Unfortunately I am old enough to remember the hideous joke that was Tony "devil incarnate" Blair. However you have made me laugh sooooo hard....omg kids could count their ribs but they was happy....crying 😂 I remember those years well. My parents grew their own veg, mum knitted all our jumpers, brewed her own wine....I recall my sister finishing the dregs in all our glasses one Sunday lunchtime when she was 3. And promptly fell asleep on the sofa. Drunk. Unbeknownst to my parents 🤣😂 happy days
