Great article. Collectively we would benefit more from a “a month without narcissistic behavior” then a month without imbibing behavior. Besides, I only drink when I smoke. And I only smoke when I am alone or with somebody. Maybe we should all stop shrinking ourselves
Freud's worries were misplaced and misdirected. His ideas were simplistic; but wrapped in extensive confabulated nonsense. Plausible and convincing nonsense which took decades to unpack and refute.
His worries should have been directed inward rather than displaced outward. Perhaps the world would have been spared a great deal of time and trouble had he done so.

As one who has never been 100% confident in the definition of irony, I must ask: Being prompted, having just read this great piece and consequently having no choice but to subscribe, to share this discovery on Twitter...that has to be ironic, right? Please tell me I got it right.
A classic example is Alanis Morrisette's song, 'Ironic.' The examples in that song are not ironic. The irony, early internet pedants pointed out, is a song devoted to irony contains no examples of irony.
Thank you for reading, and sharing, and subscribing.
I suggest that it's much simpler than that: He who would raise his awareness would open his own eyes, make his own decisions, and totally ignore the Popular Kids. They are spawn of the shallow end of the gene pool.

A thinking man right here.
How about a 'Turn Off Your Silly Phone and Read a Book' month?
Neil Postman was right.

They forgot about Adler. A lot of his stuff would serve as a mithridate to Clown World tendencies. If he were alive today, he'd be cancelled tomorrow.

Sounds like Utopia...
More Gold.
Thanks, Marine...
"We may claim to be ‘raising awareness’ of this plight or of the next: we are raising awareness of ourselves."

I've said this before: that pseudonym is praiseworthy.
